Backend Engineer

We are hiring Backend Engineer (1 -2 years fintech experience) to join the core engineering team of Money EU - a payment gateway and payment orchestration platform handling real-money transactions across multiple countries.This is a mission-critical role where you will work directly on:High-availability payment systemsPSP integrations (Redsys, D24, CoinsPaid, etc.)Card processing flows (2D/3D Secure)Payment routing, settlement, and reconciliationSecure transaction handling with encryption and signaturesYou will be working on real fintech infrastructure where reliability, accuracy, and security of every API call matters. This role requires attention to detail, ownership, and the mindset of building banking-grade architecture.Key Responsibilities:Build backend microservices using Java/Spring BootIntegrate global Payment Service Providers (PSPs) such as Redsys, D24, CoinsPaidImplement end-to-end payment flows: authorization, capture, refunds, callbacksWork with HMAC/AES-based encryption and signature verificationBuild robust payment routing and orchestration logicImplement settlement + reconciliation systems to ensure merchants receive accurate payoutsOptimize API performance for high-scale transactionsCollaborate with frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver production-ready featuresDeployment knowledge is a plusWhy This Role Is Critical:You will be directly responsible for handling sensitive financial transactionsEvery line of code impacts money movement for merchantsYou will help shape the core architecture that powers the companyYou will own PSP integrations that open new markets and revenue streamsSkills & Requirements:Strong hands-on experience with Java & Spring BootUnderstanding of REST APIs, microservices, and asynchronous flowsExperience with MySQL/Postgres and database query optimizationFamiliarity with encryption (AES/HMAC), signatures, and secure API communicationUnderstanding of fintech/payment systems is a plusAbility to work in a fast-paced startup environmentStrong debugging and analytical skills IndustryBusiness Consulting and ServicesEmployment TypeFull-time
