Location: BengaluruJobType: full-timeWe are looking for a talented and driven Backend Engineer to join our engineering team and help build scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in backend development, API design, database management, and distributed systems.You will work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to develop robust backend services that power our products and platforms. This role offers an opportunity to work on challenging engineering problems, improve system performance, and contribute to architectural and technical decisions.RequirementsKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications, services, and APIsBuild secure, reliable, and high-performance RESTful APIs and backend servicesDevelop clean, maintainable, modular, and well-tested code following engineering best practicesDesign and optimize database schemas, queries, indexes, and data-access layersWork with relational and/or NoSQL databases depending on application requirementsIdentify and resolve performance bottlenecks, production issues, and backend reliability challengesImplement authentication, authorization, data validation, error handling, and other backend security practicesIntegrate third-party APIs, internal services, and external systemsCollaborate with frontend engineers to design efficient API contracts and seamless application workflowsParticipate in code reviews and contribute to improving coding standards and development practicesWrite unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure application quality and reliabilityMonitor backend services and troubleshoot issues across development, staging, and production environmentsContribute to system architecture, technical design discussions, and engineering documentationContinuously evaluate new technologies and approaches to improve scalability, maintainability, and developer productivityMust-Have Skills2-9 years of professional experience in Backend Engineering / Software DevelopmentStrong hands-on experience building and maintaining backend applications and servicesStrong understanding of backend architecture, API development, and server-side programmingProficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Java, Python, Node.js, Go, Ruby, PHP, C#, or similarExperience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with service-to-service integrationsGood understanding of SQL and database concepts, including schema design and query optimizationStrong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software engineering principlesExperience with Git and modern software development workflowsAbility to debug complex technical issues and optimize application performanceStrong understanding of security, scalability, reliability, and maintainability in backend systemsGood-to-Have SkillsExperience with microservices and distributed systemsExposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google CloudExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelinesFamiliarity with caching technologies such as RedisExperience with message queues or event-driven architectures such as Kafka or RabbitMQExposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or CassandraUnderstanding of system design and high-availability architecturesExperience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
