Apply & track with Apply EdgeBallet Teacher — Job DescriptionDebbie Allen Dance AcademyPosition SummaryThe Debbie Allen Dance Academy seeks an experienced Ballet Teacher to provide high-quality classical ballet instruction while fostering technical excellence, artistry, discipline, and individual growth.Key ResponsibilitiesTeach age-appropriate ballet classes emphasizing technique, alignment, musicality, coordination, and artistic expression.Develop structured lesson plans that support progressive technical development.Provide clear instruction, constructive corrections, and individual feedback.Maintain a disciplined, positive, safe, and respectful learning environment.Prepare students for performances, auditions, evaluations, and rehearsals as needed.Monitor student progress and maintain required attendance, grading, and instructional records.Collaborate with faculty and Academy leadership to maintain consistent training standards.Participate in required meetings, rehearsals, and Academy activities.Uphold Academy policies, professional conduct, and student safety standards.QualificationsExtensive classical ballet training and professional dance or teaching experience.Strong knowledge of ballet technique, terminology, anatomy, and age-appropriate instruction.Demonstrated ability to teach and communicate effectively with students of varying ages and abilities.Strong classroom management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Professionalism, reliability, and commitment to student development.Preferred ExperienceProfessional performance experience.Previous teaching experience at a dance academy, conservatory, or performing arts institution.Experience preparing students for advanced training and performances.Physical RequirementsThe position requires the ability to demonstrate ballet vocabulary and movement as appropriate, observe students closely, provide verbal and physical corrections within Academy guidelines, and remain physically active throughout instructional periods.Professional ExpectationsFaculty members are expected to demonstrate artistic excellence, effective teaching practices, professionalism, and a commitment to developing technically proficient, disciplined, confident, and expressive dancers.
