C2i is recruiting for Time Out Market, to build the team behind one of Abu Dhabi's most anticipated openings. We're looking for passionate professionals to join us as we prepare to open Abu Dhabi's first Time Out Market a vibrant new destination for food, culture and entertainment under one roof!ABOUT THE ROLEWe love what we do and it shows! Time Out Market is the division of Time Out that brings our food and cultural experiences to life for our guests, readers and clients.Our Market Barbacks provide outstanding guest service and product to ensure that each of our guests enjoys a memorable experience with every visit.WHAT YOU'LL DOProvide service to bartenders, beverage runners and guests in a timely mannerAssist bartenders with taking guest orders and ensuring the proper product is servedPrepare all mixes and garnishesPolish and wash glassware throughout the shiftEnsure proper rotation of all liquor, beer, wine and consumable itemsMaintain opening and closing liquor, beer, wine and consumables parEnsure all stocking is complete, requisitions are filled out, and any shortage of stock is reportedKeep the bar top clean and free of dirty glasses, trash and clutter throughout the shiftKeep the back bar clean and organisedClean all spills and waste immediately; sweep and mop as needed, and place all trash in proper receptaclesSet up and maintain event and banquet function spaces properlyAssist with loading and unloading of miscellaneous equipment, including boxes, food and beverage productsRespond to guest inquiries and requests courteously, and anticipate guest needsProvide information to guests regarding our venues, menus and pricingRecognise and cultivate regular guests and repeat businessAdhere to all company standard operating procedures and maintain all company service sequence standardsMaintain line of sight and atmosphere control by circulating through your work area throughout the shiftRecognise when guests are becoming or are intoxicated, monitor potentially disruptive guests, and bring them to a manager's attention promptlyInform management of any complaint, comment or incident, and report theft, vandalism or violationsComply with all safety and health department procedures, company and departmental policies, and all applicable liquor lawsMaintain company safety and sanitation standardsComplete nightly, weekly and opening/running/closing dutiesRecord and report any equipment failure or safety hazards to a manager immediatelyAppear in uniform for all shifts at the scheduled timeWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORMinimum of six months to one year of direct work experienceKnowledge of drink recipes, and of beer, wine and spiritsFamiliarity with POS systems and bar and lounge operationsUnderstanding of safe alcohol service, beverage presentation and high-volume operationsKnowledge of opening and closing duties, sanitation and safety, and proper lifting techniquesAbility to create and maintain a sense of urgencyAbility to perform basic mathematical equationsStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively and assertively in English, verbally and in writing, with staff, clients and the publicAbility to maintain composure, personal integrity and a high level of confidentialityAbility to demonstrate a positive attitude always and listen empatheticallyAbility to work as a team, stay organised, handle various tasks at one time and make accurate decisionsAbility to handle a fast-paced, busy environment, work under pressure and meet deadlinesHigh School Diploma preferredTHE ENVIRONMENTRestaurant environment with varying levels of noise and crowds depending on guest volume. The role is physically active — extended periods standing, moving at pace, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Varied shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays. A professional, neat and well-groomed appearance is required at all times.
