Barista

The barista is responsible for preparing and serving hot and cold coffee beverages, welcoming customers, operating the POS system, and keeping the workspace clean, organized, and well-stocked. This role requires strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, including the use of espresso machines, along with excellent customer service skills to ensure a positive and enjoyable guest experience.Compensation: $16.22 - $16.84 hourlyQualificationsExperience: Previous experience as a barista or in food service is often preferred but not required.Skills: Ability to handle and work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly.Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift, and carry heavy items (e.g., milk crates, coffee bags).Education: A high school diploma or GED is often preferred.ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service: Greeting customers warmly, answering questions about the menu, and making recommendations.Beverage Preparation: Brewing coffee, espresso, and tea beverages according to recipes and techniques.Cleanliness & Maintenance: Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and seating areas.Operations: Handling payments through POS systems, restocking inventory (beans, cups, pastries), and following food safety regulations.Equipment Care: Operating and performing maintenance on espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
