Company Description Refuge Coffee Co.® is a not-for-profit business founded in 2015 with a vision to create welcome for all and a mission to provide job training for resettled refugees and immigrants in Metro Atlanta. The organization offers meaningful employment and skill-building opportunities while serving high-quality coffee, drinks, and pastries. Refuge Coffee Co.® operates retail locations in Clarkston and at the Woodruff Arts Center in Midtown Atlanta, and also runs a fleet of trucks and carts to serve coffee at various events and locations. Team members join a community-focused environment that values hospitality, inclusion, and social impact.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Barista role located in Atlanta, GA. The Barista prepares and serves coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages, as well as pastries and light food items, following Refuge Coffee Co.® recipes and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include taking orders, operating the POS system, handling cash and card transactions, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and restocking supplies. The Barista provides friendly, attentive customer service, engages warmly with guests, and contributes to a welcoming environment that reflects the organization’s mission. The role also involves working collaboratively with teammates, supporting training initiatives, and assisting with opening and closing duties as needed.QualificationsStrong Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all guests.Barista experience or demonstrated ability to learn coffee preparation, espresso-based drink making, and beverage service.Effective Communication skills for interacting with customers, coworkers, and supervisors in a clear and respectful manner.Food Preparation skills, including safe handling, basic food service tasks, and adherence to health and safety standards.Reliability in punctuality and attendance, with the ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.Capacity to stand for extended periods, lift and move supplies as needed, and work in a fast-paced environment.Commitment to Refuge Coffee Co.® values of hospitality, inclusion, and support for resettled refugees and immigrants.Previous café or retail experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided.
