This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity — you'll join before we open and help set the standard for how we operate, serve guests, and show up for each other every day.As Shift Lead, you're the second-in-command on the floor. You bring the same hospitality instincts as our Barista team, paired with the confidence to lead a shift, support your teammates, and make real-time decisions when the General Manager isn't present. You own your shift from start to finish.We're looking for two people to fill the following schedules:AM Lead: Tuesday - Saturday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PMPM Lead: Sunday - Thursday, 12:00 PM - 8:30 PMResponsibilitiesPre-OpeningParticipate in onboarding and training prior to openingLearn company service standards, operating procedures, and product knowledge at a leadership levelAssist with café setup, merchandising, and operational readinessHelp facilitate team training and support Barista onboarding alongside the General ManagerSupport grand opening events and launch activitiesShift Leadership & OperationsOpen or close the location according to established procedures — you own the shift, start to finishLead and direct the Barista team — assign tasks, manage pace, and step in where neededMonitor floor coverage and adjust team positioning in real time based on trafficComplete shift reports and communicate key updates to the General Manager dailyFlag any team performance concerns, guest feedback, or operational issues promptlyGuest Experience & HospitalityModel the exceptional, attentive guest experience expected of every team memberServe as the primary point of contact for guests when the General Manager is not presentHandle escalations, complaints, and special requests with confidence and good judgmentBuild relationships with regulars and help create a sense of communityBeverage & ProductPrepare and serve all menu items to company standards with consistency and careMaintain strong product knowledge and confidently educate guests and team membersUphold quality, presentation, and food safety standards across every shiftOperations & StandardsReceive and verify product deliveries from our Phoenix production warehouseOperate the POS system accurately and oversee cash handling proceduresMaintain cleanliness, organization, and visual standards throughout the caféFollow and enforce opening, closing, and daily operational proceduresRequirementsExperience in coffee, food service, retail, or hospitality — with some lead, keyholder, or supervisory experience preferredA natural leader who steps up without being asked and stays calm under pressureGenuine passion for hospitality and elevating the guest experienceStrong communication skills — with guests and with your teamComfortable handling cash, operating POS, and managing product receivingReliable, punctual, and accountableAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 poundsFull-time availability for assigned schedule (AM: Tue-Sat, 5:00 AM-1:30 PM or PM: Sun-Thurs, 12:00 PM-8:30 PM), including early mornings, weekends, and holidaysMust be at least 18 years oldMust be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona Title 4 Basic Alcohol Certification prior to serving alcohol — we will provide guidance on completing this certification before openingBenefitsFull-time position with consistent hours, plus tipsA dynamic team environment where collaboration is keyOpportunity to help open a brand-new location and step into a leadership role at a growing company from day oneEmployee product discountsPaid pre-opening training and developmentEligible for health, dental, and vision benefits the 1st of the month following 60 days of full-time employmentHow To ApplyReady to join the Too Sweet Cakes team?
