Job PurposeThe Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages while delivering a friendly, efficient, and memorable guest experience.The role requires strong beverage knowledge, attention to detail, responsible service, accurate billing, stock control, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced sports and entertainment environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBeverage Preparation and Guest ServiceWelcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service.Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to approved recipes and presentation standards.Prepare cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, beers, soft drinks, juices, and hot beverages.Provide guests with information about beverages, ingredients, promotions, and available options.Recommend suitable beverages based on guest preferences.Take accurate orders and enter them into the POS system.Ensure all beverages are served promptly and presented correctly.Engage with guests and contribute to an energetic and enjoyable atmosphere.Respond professionally to guest requests, concerns, and complaints.Coordinate with Bay Hosts, servers, kitchen staff, and supervisors to ensure smooth service.Support corporate events, tournaments, celebrations, and group bookings.Responsible Beverage ServiceFollow all applicable legal requirements and company policies relating to alcohol service.Verify guest identification when required.Monitor alcohol consumption and avoid serving guests who appear intoxicated.Immediately report any concerns relating to guest behaviour or responsible alcohol service to the supervisor.Maintain professional conduct and ensure all guests are treated respectfully.Bar OperationsSet up the bar before service and ensure it is fully stocked.Maintain sufficient levels of beverages, garnishes, glassware, ice, napkins, straws, and other supplies.Ensure the bar counter, preparation areas, storage areas, refrigerators, and equipment remain clean and organised.Follow standard recipes, portion-control requirements, and approved serving measurements.Monitor beverage quality and check product expiry dates.Complete opening and closing duties according to operational checklists.Ensure glassware is cleaned, polished, and stored correctly.Report damaged equipment, stock shortages, spillages, and maintenance issues.Support other bar and F&B team members during busy periods.Billing and Cash HandlingProcess guest bills and payments accurately through the POS system.Handle cash, card payments, discounts, and promotional offers according to established procedures.Ensure all sales are correctly recorded.Maintain accountability for the assigned cash float where applicable.Report billing errors or payment discrepancies immediately.Support end-of-shift reconciliation when required.Stock and Inventory ControlAssist with receiving, checking, and storing beverage deliveries.Maintain accurate stock records and assist with regular inventory counts.Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements.Follow the first-in, first-out stock-rotation system.Minimise wastage by following correct pouring and portion-control standards.Record breakages, spillages, complimentary items, and wastage accurately.Support management in controlling beverage costs and preventing stock loss.Hygiene and SafetyFollow all food safety, hygiene, health, and safety requirements.Maintain excellent personal grooming and uniform standards.Clean and sanitise bar equipment, utensils, counters, and preparation areas regularly.Store beverages, ingredients, and equipment safely.Follow procedures relating to broken glass, spillages, sharp tools, and cleaning chemicals.Immediately report accidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions.Follow all emergency and incident-reporting procedures.Qualifications and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience as a Bartender in a restaurant, hotel, entertainment venue, sports facility, lounge, or busy bar environment is preferred.Knowledge of cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and beverage preparation.Experience using POS systems and processing guest payments.Knowledge of responsible beverage-service practices.Good spoken English;
