The ideal candidate will oversee battery design, performance optimization, technology evaluation, laboratory testing, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic technology roadmaps while ensuring product quality, safety, scalability, and commercial success.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement battery technology strategies, energy storage roadmaps, and innovation programmes aligned with organizational objectives and long-term business goals.Lead research, development, testing, validation, and commercialization of battery technologies, including lithium-ion, solid-state, sodium-ion, lithium iron phosphate (LFP), nickel manganese cobalt (NMC), and emerging energy storage solutions.Collaborate with Battery Engineers, Materials Scientists, Manufacturing, Product Development, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Regulatory Affairs, Technology, and Executive Leadership to deliver advanced battery solutions.Oversee battery cell design, module development, battery pack architecture, battery management systems (BMS), thermal management, and performance optimization initiatives.Manage laboratory testing, prototype evaluation, safety validation, lifecycle analysis, reliability testing, and product qualification programmes.Evaluate battery materials, cell chemistries, manufacturing technologies, recycling opportunities, and supply chain innovations to support continuous product improvement.Coordinate technology transfer, pilot production, engineering validation, manufacturing readiness, and product launch activities.Monitor advancements in energy storage technologies, industry standards, intellectual property, competitor innovations, and regulatory developments to identify strategic opportunities.Develop technical standards, engineering guidelines, validation protocols, and best practices for battery development and lifecycle management.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including energy density, cycle life, safety performance, product reliability, manufacturing yield, project milestones, technology readiness, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction.Conduct technology assessments, design reviews, failure analyses, root cause investigations, benchmarking studies, and continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, international battery safety standards, transportation requirements, environmental regulations, ISO standards, IEC standards, UN 38.3, and organizational quality policies.Manage battery technology budgets, laboratory resources, research partnerships, equipment investments, technology vendors, and strategic innovation initiatives.Drive digital transformation through artificial intelligence (AI)-powered battery modelling, predictive performance analytics, digital twins, simulation platforms, automated testing systems, machine learning, and business intelligence solutions.Utilize MATLAB, Simulink, ANSYS, COMSOL Multiphysics, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, LabVIEW, Battery Management System (BMS) software, PLM platforms, Microsoft 365, Power BI, Tableau, and engineering simulation tools to optimize battery performance and generate actionable insights.Prepare executive dashboards, technology roadmaps, laboratory reports, product validation summaries, investment analyses, engineering reviews, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.Lead, mentor, and develop battery engineers, research scientists, laboratory specialists, product engineers, and multidisciplinary teams while fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Physics, or a related field.Master's degree or PhD in Battery Technology, Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Energy Storage Systems, Engineering Management, Business Administration (MBA), or a related discipline is highly advantageous.Professional certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma, Quality Engineering, Battery Safety, or equivalent are preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in battery technology, energy storage, battery research and development, product engineering, electrochemistry, or related roles.At least 2 years of experience managing battery engineering teams, R&D programmes, technology development projects, or multidisciplinary engineering initiatives preferred.Strong understanding of battery chemistry, electrochemical systems, battery management systems (BMS), thermal management, energy storage technologies, manufacturing processes, product validation, and battery safety standards.Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, ANSYS, COMSOL Multiphysics, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, LabVIEW, PLM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Tableau, and battery modelling or engineering simulation software.Familiarity with AI-powered battery optimization, digital twins, predictive maintenance, advanced materials research, smart manufacturing, machine learning applications, and next-generation energy storage technologies is highly advantageous.Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, project management, budgeting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple battery technology initiatives while balancing technical innovation, product quality, safety, regulatory compliance, budgets, timelines, and commercial objectives.Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with distributed engineering teams, research institutions, manufacturing partners, suppliers, technology providers, executives, and global stakeholders, with
