BI and Data Analytics Manager

The BI & Data Analytics Manager is responsible for leading the organization's Business Intelligence (Power BI and IBM Cognos), Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, and Reporting functions. This role transforms business data into meaningful insights that support strategic planning, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making.The manager will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise BI solutions, establish data governance standards, and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver scalable analytics solutions across all departments. The role also involves leading BI projects, managing the BI team, and driving data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.Role and Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Function Application, Azure API Management, and other Azure services.Lead and mentor junior data engineers, Power BI visualization team, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.Build and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures to support data transformation and analytics.Integrate structured and unstructured data from various sources including REST APIs, on-prem systems, and cloud platforms.Manage and monitor data lake and storage solutions (ADLS, Blob Storage) for high availability and performance.Coordinate sprint planning, task allocation, and delivery tracking across data engineering initiatives.Drive implementation of coding standards, data governance, and performance optimization best practices within the team.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data scientists, and DevOps, to deliver end-to-end solutions.Manage BI software vendors and implementation partners. Evaluate new BI technologies.Negotiate software licensing and support agreements.Educational Qualifications & CertificationsBachelor’s degree in a relevant field required, master’s degree preferredProfessional certifications in BI, Analytics, or Cloud technologies are an advantage Preferred Certifications: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, PMP, ITIL foundation Experience 5–6 years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data AnalyticsMinimum 2–3 years in a managerial or team leadership role.Experience in Retail is a must.Proven experience implementing enterprise BI solutions.Technical & Functional SkillsBusiness Intelligence Tools (Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, DAX, Power BI Matrix)SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), IBM Cognos (legacy environments)Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQLData Warehouse Design, Data Modeling, Data Lakes, Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics)Retail Sales Analytics, Inventory Optimization, Customer Analytics, Financial Reporting, Supply Chain Analytics, Demand Forecasting, Budgeting and Planning, KPI Management.
