Bid Procurement LeadLocation: Gloucestershire or Wimbledon – HybridType: PermanentSector: Defence / Engineering / TechnologySalary: £50k - £62k + Bonus + PackageWe are partnering with a major organisation operating across complex, mission-critical programmes to recruit a Bid Procurement Lead. This is a highly commercial role sitting at the heart of bid and capture activity, helping shape competitive and deliverable supply chain solutions for major future programmes.The successful candidate will work closely with Business Development, Programme, Finance and Bid teams, taking ownership of supplier engagement and ensuring procurement strategy provides the right balance of capability, commercial value and delivery certainty.The Role:Develop and deliver procurement and supply chain strategies supporting major bids, tenders and new business opportunities.Identify, engage, evaluate and down-select suppliers based on capability, commercial value, risk and innovation.Lead supplier engagement throughout the bid lifecycle, acting as a key interface between internal bid teams and the external supply market.Negotiate commercially competitive solutions and support the development of appropriate contracts and subcontracting arrangements.Contribute to bid planning, governance, reporting and commercial assurance, ensuring key procurement milestones are achieved.Key Skills:Strong procurement or supply chain experience with demonstrable involvement in bids, proposals or business-winning activity.Proven experience building, managing and negotiating with suppliers within complex or highly regulated environments.Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering value through negotiation, supplier selection and contracting.Good understanding of procurement principles, contract law and commercial risk.Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate effectively across Procurement, Commercial, Finance, Programme and Business Development teams.Desirable Experience:Background within defence, aerospace, engineering, technology or another complex project environment.Experience supporting large, technically complex bids or capture programmes.CIPS Level 5 or above, or equivalent commercial/procurement qualification.Knowledge of international trade compliance requirements such as ITAR or EAR would be advantageous.Experience incorporating social value, responsible sourcing or wider ESG considerations into procurement activity.What’s on Offer?Opportunity to influence procurement strategy across high-profile, mission-critical programmes.Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, including alternative working patterns.Private healthcare and additional health and wellbeing benefits.Performance-related bonus and comprehensive benefits package.Strong long-term career development opportunities within a large, complex organisation.Due to the nature of the programmes involved, applicants must be UK nationals and able to obtain and maintain UK Government SC security clearance.If this could be the next role for you please apply/message or reach out to me on dan@talentdrive.co.uk
