Company Description Bedford Central School District is a public school system located in northern Westchester County, about 50 minutes north of New York City. The district serves students across seven schools, including Fox Lane High School, Fox Lane Middle School, and five elementary schools that support the communities of Bedford Hills, Mt. Led by Superintendent Dr. Robert Glass, the district is committed to providing high-quality educational and support services to a diverse student population.Role Description The Bilingual School Psychologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Bedford, NY, serving students at Bedford Hills ElementarySchool. This role involves conducting psychological assessments, providing counseling and mental health support, and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop and implement individualized education plans. The psychologist will collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to promote students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being in both English and another target language. Daily responsibilities include crisis intervention as needed, consultation with teachers on behavior and learning strategies, and documentation of services and evaluations in accordance with district and state guidelines.Qualifications Strong foundation in Psychology and Mental Health to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.Demonstrated skills in Counseling for individual and group interventions within a school setting.Experience with Psychological Assessment, including administering, scoring, and interpreting standardized tests.Understanding of Medicine as it relates to child and adolescent development and coordination with medical professionals when appropriate.Proficiency in English and at least one additional language relevant to the district’s student population.Master’s or doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field, with appropriate state certification or licensure.Knowledge of special education regulations, IEP development, and Response to Intervention (RTI) or Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).Ability to work collaboratively with diverse students, families, and staff, and to maintain accurate, confidential records.Must be bilingual in Spanish.
