As the company continues to grow, they are searching for someone as part of a succession plan to lead their billing and receivables team.SummaryWhile this is healthcare related, the arrangement is a bit different where this team is not directly billing medicare, medicaid, and insurance but will help guide their client who is. The Billing Manager leads the day-to-day billing and accounts receivables function, leading a small team of billing associates and partnering closely with the business office staff at each location.The position is open as part of succession planning and will have exposure to executive leadership and will eventually report directly into the C-Suite. Technology is in place and largely automated, so the work centers on review, follow-up, correction, and month-end reporting, along with improving a few manual processes. If you enjoy teaching others, building relationships, and being the person the field is glad to hear from, this is a strong fit.ResponsibilitiesLead the day-to-day billing and payment follow up function, ensuring accurate, timely billing and strong cash inflowManage, train, and develop a team of billing associatesPartner with operations at each location, coaching them and guiding them for accurate and timely processes.Support location leadership in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining staffReview billing, follow up on exceptions, and resolve corrections across multiple payer typesPull and analyze reports from the billing system and prepare month-end reporting and reconciliationsIdentify opportunities to automate manual month-end processes and improve workflowsTravel occasionally to locations for training and recruiting supportWork with senior leadership on team structure and staffing as the company growsQualificationsProgressive billing and payment follow up experience.Leadership experience managing a billing team, with the ability to train, coach, and develop others.Experience with electronic health record systems and their billing functionality is strongly preferred.Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payers is strongly preferred.Experience supporting billing across multiple locations or practices is strongly preferred.An educator mindset: approachable, persistent, and effective at influencing people who do not report to you.Strong reporting and reconciliation skills, including month-end reporting.Comfortable using billing and reporting systems to pull, analyze, and file data.About This SearchNot all of our searches are posted.
