Biolab Technician – Cell Biology / DIGIT Assay

DOPPL, now part of the InSphero Group, is looking for a hands-on Technician to join our Lausanne Biolab team and take primary responsibility for the reliable execution of our recurring DIGIT assay workflow. This is a highly practical cell-culture role for someone who enjoys being at the bench, takes pride in reproducibility, and wants to become exceptionally good at running a standardized assay month after month.About the Company and the RoleDOPPL is now part of InSphero, bringing together organoid expertise, 3D cell-based technologies and preclinical drug-development services. In Lausanne, we are increasingly standardizing our workflows so that robust biological models can be run reproducibly, efficiently and at scale. A key part of this transition is the launch of DIGIT, our standardized organoid-based intestinal toxicity assay.For this position, we are specifically looking for someone to execute the monthly recurring DIGIT assay. The role is about excellent hands-on execution: healthy cultures, precise timing, careful dosing, clean documentation, reliable endpoints and consistent results from one run to the next.What you will doExecute the recurring DIGIT assay according to established protocols and timelines, from organoid preparation and treatment through endpoint measurements, imaging and documentation.Maintain, expand and prepare organoid and other mammalian cell cultures required for scheduled assay runs.Prepare media, reagents, compound plates and biological samples with high attention to accuracy, sterility and traceability.Perform routine cell-based and molecular biology assays and support basic image processing and data quality control.Set up, maintain and clean laboratory instruments and ensure required materials and consumables are available for planned runs.Document work in accordance with internal SOPs, work instructions and quality standards, including deviations and non-conformities when needed.Contribute to incremental improvements, automation and further standardization of the DIGIT workflow without compromising assay consistency.Support general Biolab activities when needed, including sample preparation, stock management and routine laboratory organization.Who we are looking forWe want a technician who genuinely loves cell culture and bench work. You are the kind of person who treats cells almost like pets: you notice when they look slightly off, care about feeding schedules and culture conditions, and take personal pride in keeping them healthy, stable and reproducible.Technical training in biology, biotechnology or a related discipline (e.g. CFC, ES, BSc or equivalent practical qualification).Strong hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture is required. Experience with primary cells, stem-cell-derived models or organoids is highly valued, with candidates who have direct hands-on organoid culture experience being prioritized.Confident aseptic technique and careful, reproducible pipetting skills.Hands-on experience with cell-based assays and standard molecular biology workflows.Excellent organization and attention to detail, with the discipline to follow standardized protocols exactly and consistently.Comfort with a recurring operational workflow: you enjoy mastering a process and making every run as reliable as the last.A proactive attitude toward troubleshooting, documentation and small process improvements.Comfort working in an on-site laboratory environment as part of a collaborative team.This is deliberately a technician position, not a PhD-level scientist role. This role is not centered on designing new scientific concepts or leading exploratory R&D. A PhD is neither required nor the profile we are seeking. The standard work week is 42.5 hours. Home office is generally not intended for this role due to its laboratory-based nature. However, occasional home office may be granted for specific analysis-, documentation-, or reporting-intensive workdays.
