Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole Description This is a full-time, on-site Biomedical Engineer role based in Columbia Asia Hospital-Klang. The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for installing, testing, calibrating, and maintaining a range of medical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Daily tasks include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, coordinating repairs with vendors, and documenting all service activities in compliance with regulatory and hospital standards. The role involves working closely with clinical staff to understand equipment usage, provide user training, and support equipment planning and upgrades. The Biomedical Engineer will also assist in evaluating new technologies, supporting safety audits, and contributing to continuous improvement of equipment management processes.QualificationsCandidates should possess skills in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering to support the safe and effective use of medical technology in clinical settings.Candidates should possess skills in Medical Equipment and Equipment Maintenance for installation, troubleshooting, repair, and lifecycle management of devices.Candidates should possess skills in Preventive Maintenance to plan, perform, and document scheduled servicing that reduces downtime and ensures compliance.Relevant bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related technical field.Knowledge of healthcare regulations, safety standards, and medical device compliance requirements.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and a focus on quality.Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical staff, vendors, and cross-functional teams, and to communicate technical information clearly.Prior experience in hospital or clinical engineering environments is an advantage.Working ExperienceMinimum 3 years of relevant working experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.Experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration and commissioning of medical equipment is required.Experience dealing with medical equipment vendors, suppliers and external contractors will be an added advantage.
