Team members work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure equipment performance, safety, and regulatory compliance, contributing to better clinical outcomes and efficient hospital operations.Role Description The Biomedical Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Abuja, responsible for supporting medical equipment across radiology, laboratory, critical care, and CSSD departments. The role involves installing, calibrating, testing, and maintaining medical devices to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Daily tasks include conducting preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, documenting service activities, and coordinating with clinical staff to understand equipment usage and needs. The Biomedical Engineer will also assist with equipment evaluations, support procurement decisions, provide user training on proper operation and basic care, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to minimize downtime and extend asset life.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field.Strong foundation in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles in a healthcare environment.Hands-on experience with Medical Equipment in radiology, laboratory, critical care, and CSSD settings, including installation and performance verification.Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance, including troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and documentation of service records.Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations, safety standards, and medical device quality practices.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clinical teams, vendors, and technical colleagues.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to patient and staff safety.Willingness to work on-site in or outside Abuja and respond to urgent service needs as required.
