To achieve this ambitious vision, we’re assembling the best team in the world—dedicated to turning cutting-edge science into life-changing, real-world solutions.About The Role (Internship)We are looking for a Biosensors Research Intern (Electrochemistry) to support our electrochemical biosensor R&D team, with a focus on aptamer-based sensing and small-molecule assay development. This role is designed for an intern: you’ll work on well-defined experiments, learn our lab workflows and electrochemistry stack, and contribute data and documentation that moves projects forward.This is a full-time, in-person internship primarily based in London.What You'll DoSome examples of what you might do:Support the design and execution of electrochemical experiments (e.g., voltammetry, impedimetry, chronoamperometry) under guidancePrepare buffers/solutions, handle samples (including biofluids where appropriate), and maintain good lab practiceAssist with electrode cleaning and basic surface functionalisation steps following established protocolsRun assay optimisation experiments (e.g., concentration ranges, incubation times, blocking conditions) and record results rigorouslyCarry out routine characterisation and quality checks on sensors and reagents, flagging anomalies earlyContribute to Python-based data analysis and plotting (training provided as needed) and help maintain tidy datasetsHelp draft and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), experiment templates, and lab documentationPresent progress in short weekly updates and collaborate closely with chemists, biologists, engineers, and data scientistsEssentialWhat You BringCurrently pursuing (or recently completed) a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical/Materials Engineering, or a related disciplineComfortable in a wet lab environment with strong attention to detail, safety, and reproducibilityFoundational understanding of electrochemistry and enthusiasm to learn biosensing applicationsSome hands-on experience with at least one of: electrochemical measurements, surface chemistry, assay development, or analytical methodsStrong organisation and note-taking skills (you keep experiments traceable and data interpretable)A proactive, creative, problem-solving mindset and willingness to ask good questionsNice to have:Prior exposure to aptamers or other biorecognition elements (even through coursework or a thesis project)Familiarity with the microfabrication techniques and microfluidic wearable platforms, including CAD modelling, lithography, and experimental setupFamiliarity with Design of Experiments (DoE), basic statistics, or Python scripting for data analysisExperience working with complex matrices (e.g., serum, saliva, urine) or sample preparationExperience with SPR, molecular docking, or structural modellingExperience with Python, R, or MATLABWho You AreWe value culture as much as we value technical expertise, creating an environment that’s equal parts collaboration, curiosity, and funWe’re a fast-paced, mission-driven young team on a quest to make a lasting impact, fueled by uncompromising integrity, unwavering support for one another, and the thrill of exploring uncharted territories.
