Bird Health Manager

Location: Near Wasco, California (On-site)Salary: $80,000–$120,000, depending on experience and levelAbout the OpportunityCVE is seeking an experienced, hands-on operations leader to oversee live poultry operations at its farm near Wasco, California.

This role is ideal for a strong people leader who can develop teams, improve operational performance, and use data and technology to support business decisions. An exceptional candidate may be considered directly for Director level, with potential long-term progression to General Manager of Live Operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and develop laborers, team leads, supervisors, and managers across live operations.Work directly within poultry barns to support daily operations, operational standards, and team performance.Build leadership capability and support succession planning throughout the organization.Analyse operational data using advanced Excel and business software, preparing clear reports and presentations for senior leadership and the board.Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and operational performance.Work closely with teams to support bird welfare, health, and husbandry standards.Ideal CandidateProven leadership and operational management experience, ideally within agriculture, poultry, food production, or a similar operational environment.Strong people-management skills and the ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.Advanced Excel skills, with confidence using business systems and interpreting operational data.Ability to work comfortably in hands-on, physically demanding environments, including poultry barns.Adaptable, technically capable, and comfortable balancing practical operations with data analysis.Familiarity with SCADA systems, animal husbandry, or bird health is advantageous but not essential.Compensation & BenefitsBase salary of $80,000–$120,000, depending on experience and seniority.Annual bonus eligibility of 15% at Manager level or 20% at Director level.Three weeks’ vacation at Manager level or four weeks at Director level.401(k) company match of up to 6%.Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates.
