This role is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of medical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Day-to-day tasks include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, responding to service calls, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and documenting all work in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. The BMET II collaborates with clinical staff to understand equipment issues, supports equipment installations and calibrations, and helps ensure compliance with electrical safety and healthcare regulations. The role also involves prioritizing work orders, maintaining accurate inventory of parts and tools, and supporting continuous improvement of the medical equipment program.Qualifications Ability to perform Equipment Maintenance and Equipment Repair on a wide range of Medical Equipment.Knowledge of Electrical Safety practices and standards in healthcare environments.Experience with Calibration of diagnostic and therapeutic devices to manufacturer and regulatory specifications.Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field; or equivalent military/technical training.Prior experience as a BMET or similar role in a clinical setting; BMET certification (e.g., CBET) is preferred.Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., Joint Commission, NFPA, FDA, IEC) is beneficial.Effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with clinical and facilities teams, and commitment to safety and quality.Capability to manage multiple work orders, maintain accurate records, and use computerized maintenance management systems.
