The Captain is responsible for the safe operation, navigation, maintenance, and overall management of a 60-foot private yacht. This role requires exceptional seamanship, leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing a first-class experience for the owner and guests while ensuring the vessel is maintained to the highest standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely navigate and operate the yacht in accordance with all local, state, federal, and international maritime regulations.Plan voyages, routes, fuel requirements, and weather considerations.Perform docking, anchoring, and mooring operations.Conduct pre-departure safety inspections and ensure all safety equipment is operational.Oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules.Maintain engines, generators, electrical, plumbing, navigation, and onboard systems or coordinate qualified service technicians.Keep the vessel clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times.Manage fuel, water, and waste systems.Maintain accurate maintenance logs, vessel records, and required certifications.Coordinate with marinas, shipyards, contractors, and vendors.Provision the vessel with fuel, supplies, food, beverages, and guest necessities.Ensure compliance with Coast Guard and applicable maritime regulations.Prepare annual maintenance and operating budgets.Supervise and train crew members when applicable.Provide outstanding customer service to the owner and guests while maintaining discretion and professionalism.Be available for day trips, overnight excursions, and extended cruises as required.QualificationsValid USCG Captain’s License (appropriate tonnage for vessel operation)Current CPR/First Aid certificationValid TWIC card (preferred)Strong knowledge of navigation systems, radar, GPS, AIS, and marine electronicsMechanical aptitude with diesel engines and onboard systemsExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and travel as neededClean driving and boating record
