Team members contribute to memorable, high-quality dive trips for guests from around the world.Role Description The Boat Captain role at Sea Dwellers is a full-time, on-site position based in Key Largo, FL. The Boat Captain is responsible for safely operating and navigating dive boats, overseeing daily vessel checks, and maintaining all safety equipment and logs. This role includes coordinating with dive instructors and crew, managing passenger boarding and briefings, and monitoring weather and sea conditions to ensure safe trips. The Boat Captain supports guests with courteous customer service, assists with loading and unloading gear, and helps uphold company standards for safety, professionalism, and guest satisfaction. The position may also involve training deck crew on safety procedures and vessel operations.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong boating and boat operation skills, including experience handling vessels in varying sea conditions.Candidates should possess navigation skills, including chart reading, use of marine electronics, and route planning.Candidates should possess customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally and supportively with guests and crew.Candidates should possess training skills to guide and mentor crew members on safety, procedures, and vessel operations.Valid U.S. Captain’s license (Master 50T Near Coastal) and clean boating record.Knowledge of maritime safety regulations, emergency procedures, and first aid/CPR certification.Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting dive gear and working in outdoor marine environments.Experience in dive operations or familiarity with scuba diving practices is preferred.
