We are a hub of knowledge and innovation, attracting healthcare professionals who are passionate about pushing boundaries and making significant contributions to the field.Work location: National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS)Purpose of the RoleThe intern will support the Brain Cancer Programme’s brain tumour database, focusing primarily on clinical data collection and accurate database entry to strengthen research and programme development. Working closely with the Programme Chairperson and Case Manager, the intern will help ensure dataset completeness and quality while gaining exposure to oncology care pathways and patient navigation.Learning Opportunities

Brain Tumour Database Collection & Entry – Primary scope focused on accurate clinical data collection, registry entry and data quality assurance.Data Extraction & CollectionRetrieve relevant clinical data from electronic medical records, such as EPIC.Collect data on patient demographics, tumour characteristics, clinical presentation, imaging, treatment details and follow-up outcomes.Liaise with clinicians or programme coordinators to clarify missing or ambiguous information.Data Entry & Quality AssuranceEnter data accurately into the Brain Tumour Registry.Perform routine data audits and validation, including duplicate checks, completeness checks and logical accuracy reviews.Flag inconsistencies or data quality issues to the programme team.Maintain data dictionaries, variable definitions and version history.Learning outcome: Ability to interpret core clinical information in oncology.2. Documentation Support – Secondary scope supporting consistent and sustainable data management processes.Support the development of programme standard operating procedures related to data-entry workflows.Maintain process documentation to promote consistency and service continuity.Learning outcome: Understanding of how documentation supports sustainability and service continuity.3. Multidisciplinary Meeting Shadowing – Observe how multidisciplinary inputs inform brain tumour care decisions.Attend Neuro-Oncology Tumour Board sessions as an observer.Observe presentations by neurosurgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists and pathologists.Understand how multidisciplinary inputs shape treatment recommendations, including surgery, radiotherapy and systemic therapy.Learn how decisions are informed by imaging, pathology findings, clinical presentation and tumour type.Learning outcome: Understanding of multidisciplinary discussion in determining diagnosis, staging, treatment options and follow-up planning. Role RequirementsCurrently pursuing a degree or diploma in Public Health, Healthcare Management, Life Sciences, Psychology or a related fieldStrong analytical and organisational skillsMeticulous and accurate in clinical data extraction and entryStrong attention to detail and commitment to data qualityGood verbal communication and documentation-writing skillsProfessional and able to maintain confidentiality when handling clinical informationInterest in healthcare service improvement and patient engagementAble to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative stakeholdersComfortable working with electronic medical records, databases and Microsoft Office applicationsKindly note the following: Please attach the latest copy of your resume in your application.
