The Branch Manager will oversee day-to-day branch operations, including managing tool and plant hire activities, supervising staff, coordinating equipment availability, and ensuring high service standards for all customers. Responsibilities include monitoring stock levels, organizing deliveries and collections, maintaining equipment presentation and safety standards, and handling customer inquiries, quotations, and hire agreements. The role also involves tracking branch performance, supporting sales initiatives, managing budgets, and implementing processes to improve efficiency and customer experience. The Branch Manager will collaborate closely with senior management and local teams to ensure the branch meets operational, financial, and compliance objectives.Qualifications Experience in branch or retail management, preferably within construction, tool hire, plant hire, or a related industry.Strong leadership skills, including team supervision, staff development, and performance management.Solid customer service and client relationship skills, with the ability to handle enquiries, resolve issues, and build long-term partnerships.Operational and organizational skills, including stock control, scheduling, and workflow coordination.Commercial awareness and basic financial skills, such as budgeting, margin awareness, and performance tracking.Understanding of health and safety principles relevant to equipment hire and construction environments.Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.Comfort with basic IT systems used for hire management, inventory tracking, and reporting.Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role and a valid driver’s license.Ability to work on-site full time in Bridgwater and adapt to a fast-paced, hands-on operational environment.
