Three Bridges Recruitment is working with an established and successful business within the construction sector to recruit an experienced Branch Manager based in Forfar.This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded and people-focused manager to take ownership of a busy branch, leading a team of approximately 10 to 25 employees and driving performance across sales, operations, customer service and Health & Safety.You will have responsibility for the overall performance of the branch, ensuring the team delivers an excellent customer experience while achieving sales, margin and profitability targets.Why Work Here?Highly competitive salaryBased in ForfarJoin an established and successful businessTake ownership of the performance of a busy branchLead and develop a team of approximately 10 to 25 employeesOpportunity to make a genuine impact on sales, profitability and operational performanceStrong focus on employee development and progressionWork within a business that values collaboration across its branch networkVaried position combining people management, commercial performance, systems & process improvement and operational leadershipJobThe role of Branch Manager will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of the branchLeading, motivating and developing the branch team to achieve and exceed agreed objectives and KPIsRecruiting, inducting, training and developing employees, ensuring clear opportunities for progressionManaging workforce planning to ensure the branch is appropriately resourcedWorking closely with HR throughout the employee lifecycleCreating an environment of trust, accountability and open communication across the teamDriving sales growth, gross margin and profitability in line with agreed budgetsDeveloping the customer pipeline and identifying opportunities to grow the branchDelivering an excellent customer experience and supporting the team with customer requests, complaints, refunds and ordersWorking with Directors to understand and manage budgets, expenditure and financial objectivesEnsuring the highest standards of Health & Safety are maintained throughout the branchProactively identifying and managing operational and Health & Safety risksManaging stock and supporting improvements in product efficiency and waste reductionOverseeing cash handling, banking, tills and floatsSupporting transport management, including vehicle defect checks and complianceManaging resource planning around holidays, training and operational requirementsEnsuring company systems are used accurately and effectively across the branchWorking collaboratively with other branches to share best practice, supplier information and customer trendsSupporting Head Office with operational queries and compliance requirementsEnsuring the branch, yard, warehouse, equipment and stock remain safe and secureContinuously identifying opportunities to improve productivity, processes and overall branch performanceYouAs Branch Manager you will be skilled and/or experienced in the following:Previous experience leading and developing teams within a commercial or operational environmentExperience within the building / construction sector or similar environment would be highly beneficialA proven track record of leading teams to achieve KPIs and commercial objectivesStrong understanding of operational processes, controls and branch managementCommercially minded with an understanding of sales, margin, profitability and cost controlStrong Health & Safety awareness with the ability to promote a safety-first cultureConfident managing and developing employees at different levelsStrong customer service skills with a passion for delivering an excellent customer experienceConfident decision-maker with strong problem-solving skillsAbility to identify root causes and implement practical solutionsStrong communication, negotiation and influencing skillsHighly organised with the ability to forward plan and act proactivelyNumerate and commercially aware with the ability to identify improvements that positively influence profitabilityStrong IT skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and WordA positive, driven and hands-on leadership styleApproachable, calm and consistent when managing people and making decisionsFlexible approach to working hours when required to achieve business objectivesAt Three Bridges Recruitment, two of our values are “striving for brilliance” and “relatability”.
