Team members benefit from working in a stable, growing business that prioritizes professional conduct, safety, and customer satisfaction.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Branch Manager role based in Newcastle upon Tyne. The Branch Manager will oversee daily branch operations, including stock management, health and safety compliance, and the smooth running of the yard, warehouse, and sales counter. The role involves leading and developing the branch team, setting clear objectives, and fostering a positive, high-performance culture. The Branch Manager will manage budgets, monitor KPIs, and drive sales growth through strong customer service, local business development, and effective merchandising. Additional responsibilities include handling key customer accounts, resolving escalated issues, coordinating with head office functions, and ensuring that company policies and procedures are consistently followed.Qualifications Demonstrated experience in branch or store management, preferably within builders’ merchants, construction supplies, or a similar trade environment.Strong leadership skills, including team coaching, performance management, and the ability to build a collaborative, inclusive work environment.Solid commercial acumen, with experience in sales growth, margin management, budgeting, and interpreting operational and financial reports.Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to support trade and retail customers and resolve issues effectively.Good organizational and problem-solving abilities, including managing multiple priorities, maintaining accurate stock control, and ensuring branch compliance.Awareness of health and safety requirements within a builders’ merchant or industrial setting and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.Competence in using business systems and basic IT tools for ordering, reporting, and communication.Relevant management or supervisory experience; a background in construction, building materials, or logistics is an advantage.Valid right to work in the UK and the ability to commute daily to the Newcastle upon Tyne branch.
