Little Ox Brewery is a small, independent, family-run brewery that’s been making exciting, modern beers for over 10 years. We’re now looking for a passionate Brewery Assistant to join our production team.We’re a small bunch, which means everyone plays a proper part in what we do. There’s no disappearing into the background here! You’ll work closely with our Director and Head Brewer, getting hands-on experience and learning the art and science of brewing along the way. It’s a great opportunity to get stuck into all things brewing, develop your skills and have a real say in the day-to-day life of a growing independent brewery. Key Responsibilities:Brewing & Cellar WorkGet hands-on with the day-to-day running of the brewhouse and cellar. This includes cleaning vessels, looking after tanks and making sure all our brewing kit is kept in good working order.Packaging & DeliveriesHelp get our beer ready to leave the brewery, whether that’s into kegs, casks or cans. You’ll also get involved with stock control, organising orders and making deliveries to our customers.Quality & SafetyHelp us keep our beer tasting great and our brewery running safely. You’ll look after raw materials, carry out safe product transfers and follow all the relevant health, safety and brewing regulations.Taproom & EventsGet involved in the fun side of brewery life too! You’ll occasionally help out in our taproom and at events, including the odd Friday evening or Saturday.What We Are Looking For:Brewing KnowledgeSome understanding of how beer is made would be great, but it’s definitely not essential. If you’re keen to learn, we can teach you the rest.Hands-On & PhysicalThis is a hands-on job and there’s plenty of lifting, moving and getting stuck in. You’ll need to be comfortable with physical work and have a good understanding of safe manual handling.Attention to DetailWe care about making consistently good beer, so you’ll need a good eye for detail and be comfortable keeping accurate records along the way.Problem-SolvingThings don’t always go exactly to plan in a brewery! We’re looking for someone who can think on their feet, troubleshoot problems and help find practical solutions.Communication & OrganisationYou’ll be working closely with the rest of the team, so good communication is important. You’ll also need to be able to organise your own workload, prioritise tasks and get things done without needing to be chased.DrivingA full UK manual driving licence is essential. A forklift licence would be a bonus, but isn’t essential.Professional Development:For the right candidate, we offer the opportunity to complete a formal Level 4 Brewer Apprenticeship.
