platforms.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Broadcast Engineering Manager to lead broadcast engineering operations, infrastructure, systems integration, technical maintenance, reliability, and engineering projects across studio, production, transmission, playout, and streaming environments.The ideal candidate will combine strong broadcast engineering expertise with team leadership, project management, operational discipline, vendor management, troubleshooting, and continuous-improvement capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement broadcast engineering strategies, standards, architectures, and technical roadmaps.Manage day-to-day broadcast engineering operations across production and transmission environments.Oversee studio, control room, master control, playout, transmission, and streaming infrastructure.Manage cameras, vision systems, audio systems, mixers, intercoms, routers, servers, storage, graphics, automation, encoders, decoders, and monitoring systems.Maintain reliable signal acquisition, processing, routing, recording, distribution, transmission, and delivery.Coordinate broadcast engineering support for live, recorded, studio, outside-broadcast, and remote productions.Lead engineering teams responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support.Develop preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for critical broadcast systems.Monitor system performance, availability, redundancy, alarms, and technical health.Lead incident response and restoration activities for broadcast outages and critical technical failures.Establish escalation procedures and ensure timely resolution of engineering incidents.Design and maintain redundancy, failover, backup, disaster-recovery, and business-continuity capabilities.Coordinate engineering requirements for new studios, production facilities, control rooms, and broadcast sites.Lead system design, procurement, installation, integration, testing, commissioning, and handover.Develop technical specifications, equipment lists, architecture diagrams, acceptance criteria, and project documentation.Manage factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and operational readiness.Coordinate SDI, IP, hybrid, cloud, and software-defined broadcast environments as applicable.Support OTT, streaming, remote-production, cloud-playout, and digital-media workflows.Work closely with IT and network teams on infrastructure, connectivity, storage, virtualization, cybersecurity, and cloud services.Ensure synchronization, signal integrity, timing, routing, and monitoring standards are maintained.Coordinate audio, video, graphics, automation, metadata, and data-flow requirements across integrated systems.Manage broadcast equipment inventories, configuration records, licenses, warranties, and lifecycle information.Establish configuration-management, change-management, and technical documentation standards.Evaluate new broadcast technologies and develop business cases for upgrades and modernization.Assess emerging technologies including IP production, cloud broadcasting, automation, AI-assisted workflows, virtual production, and remote production.Manage external manufacturers, system integrators, consultants, maintenance providers, and technology vendors.Define vendor requirements, service levels, support arrangements, warranties, and technical deliverables.Monitor vendor performance, maintenance quality, response times, costs, and SLA compliance.Manage engineering budgets, capital projects, operational expenses, and equipment replacement plans.Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, operational efficiency, scalability, and cost effectiveness.Support production teams with technical planning for major programs, live events, and high-profile broadcasts.Coordinate technical rehearsals, system checks, transmission tests, and production readiness reviews.Establish engineering standards for audio, video, transmission, monitoring, networking, and signal distribution.Ensure compliance with applicable broadcast regulations, technical standards, safety requirements, and organizational policies.Maintain emergency procedures for transmission failures, equipment outages, power interruptions, connectivity loss, and other critical incidents.Conduct root-cause analysis following significant technical failures and implement corrective actions.Maintain accurate engineering documentation, maintenance records, incident reports, asset registers, and configuration data.Develop technical training and mentoring programs for engineering personnel.Provide management with reports covering system performance, incidents, maintenance, projects, risks, budgets, and technology improvements.Promote a culture of technical excellence, reliability, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.Key Performance CandidateThe successful candidate should have strong experience in broadcast engineering, television, radio, media technology, live production, transmission, streaming, or related technical environments.The candidate should demonstrate:Proven experience managing broadcast engineering operations and technical teams.Strong knowledge of professional broadcast systems and infrastructure.Experience with cameras, video systems, audio systems, routing, intercom, monitoring, servers, storage, graphics, automation, and transmission equipment.Strong understanding of SDI, IP-based production, hybrid broadcast, and signal-flow architectures.Experience with studio, master-control, playout, transmission, streaming, or outside-broadcast environments.Strong troubleshooting, incident-management, and root-cause-analysis capabilities.Experience leading engineering projects from design through commissioning and operational handover.Strong understanding of redundancy, failover, disaster recovery, and high-availability architectures.Experience managing broadcast technology vendors, system integrators, and service providers.Strong project-management, budgeting, procurement, and resource-planning skills.Excellent technical documentation and communication capabilities.Ability to manage multiple technical projects and operational priorities simultaneously.Strong understanding of broadcast standards, compliance, safety, and technical quality requirements.Familiarity with cloud production, OTT, remote production, automation, virtualization, and emerging media technologies is highly desirable.Knowledge of cybersecurity and IT networking within broadcast environments is advantageous.Strong written and verbal English communication skills.Ability to work effectively with international and distributed teams.Flexibility to support live broadcasts, major events, planned maintenance, and critical technical incidents outside standard working hours when required.
