Bus Operations ManagerLocation: Abu Dhabi, UAESalary: AED 35,000–41,000 per monthAbout the RoleOur client is a leading government-owned transport and infrastructure organisation responsible for delivering and managing public transportation services. As part of a major transformation programme, they are seeking an experienced Bus Operations Manager to lead the transition of bus operations into a new operating model.This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for operational mobilisation, stakeholder engagement, service continuity, and driving long-term operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the transition and mobilisation of bus operations into a new organisational structure.Develop and implement the future operating model for bus services.Ensure uninterrupted passenger services throughout the transition period.Collaborate with government stakeholders, internal teams, and external service providers.Lead procurement and tendering activities related to future bus operations.Oversee operational contracts and vendor performance.Ensure compliance with transport regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.Develop operational KPIs, reporting frameworks, and performance management processes.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and customer experience.Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership and key stakeholders.Candidate ProfileBachelor's degree in Transport Planning, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).Minimum of 15 years' experience in bus operations, public transport operations, or transport authority environments.Demonstrated experience managing large-scale bus operations, operational mobilisation, or service transition programmes.Strong knowledge of public transport operations, contract management, performance monitoring, and regulatory compliance.Experience working with government transport bodies or large public transport organisations is highly desirable.Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.Target Backgrounds: Candidates are ideally from:Government transport authoritiesMunicipal public transport agenciesLarge bus operating organisationsPublic transport concession operatorsIntegrated transport providersMobility and transport infrastructure organisationsSuitable backgrounds include:Bus Operations ManagerHead of Bus OperationsOperations Director (Bus Services)Public Transport Operations ManagerTransport Operations ManagerBus Network ManagerBus Service Delivery ManagerMobilisation Manager (Public Transport)Transition Manager (Public Transport)Preferred ExperienceManaging large public bus networksOperational transformation and organisational changeMobilisation and transition of transport servicesContract and vendor managementStakeholder engagement across public and private sector organisations
