Work Model: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)Duration: 12 Months (Potential for extension and/or permanent conversion)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst to join a collaborative Agile delivery team responsible for enhancing and modernizing enterprise applications. This role will partner with business stakeholders and cross-functional technology teams to analyze business requirements, define system solutions, and support the successful delivery of strategic technology initiatives.The ideal candidate combines strong Business Systems Analysis expertise with hands-on Mainframe experience and thrives in a fast-paced Agile environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and Quality Assurance teams to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements. Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and technical user stories. Create and manage user stories using Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodology. Perform business process analysis, impact analysis, gap analysis, and requirements traceability. Perform data inquiry and maintenance on Mainframe screens to support business operations and technology initiatives. Support solution design and collaborate with development teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Partner with Quality Assurance teams to support functional, integration, and user acceptance testing. Assist with production implementation, defect resolution, and post-deployment support. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Program Increment (PI) Planning. Identify opportunities to improve business processes, application functionality, and delivery efficiency. Required Qualifications8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Systems Consultant, Software Engineer, or Quality Engineer. Strong hands-on experience inquiring and maintaining data on Mainframe screens. Experience working within a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment. Strong understanding of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and experience writing user stories. Hands-on experience using Jira and Confluence. Strong experience with requirements gathering functional analysis, impact analysis, gap analysis, and testing support. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred QualificationsExperience within the banking or financial services industry. Experience with payment processing or payment platforms. API testing experience using Postman. Exposure to Microsoft 365 Copilot or GitHub Copilot. Business Analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or equivalent) is considered an asset. Post-secondary Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Preferred SkillsEngineering mindset with a strong focus on solution delivery.
