HCL Tech Hiring for Power BI Analyst at Team Lead position in NoidaRole SummaryThe Power BI Analyst will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing business intelligence solutions to support operational and strategic decision-making. The role requires hands-on expertise in Microsoft Power BI, with the ability to work on similar analytical platforms such as Tableau, AWS QuickSight, or other Business Intelligence tools as required.The candidate will partner with business stakeholders to convert reporting requirements into automated dashboards, actionable insights, and scalable reporting solutions. Strong SQL skills and Power Automate experience are required. Python knowledge for ETL, data preparation, and automation will be an added advantage.Key ResponsibilitiesDashboard & Report DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports primarily using Microsoft Power BI.Create operational, WFM, MIS, KPI, and executive-level reporting solutions.Develop visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, AWS QuickSight, or equivalent platforms when required.Build DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and optimized data models.Data Management & AnalysisExtract, transform, and analyze data from SQL databases, Excel files, flat files, cloud applications, and other source systems.Write and optimize SQL queries including joins, CTEs, views, stored procedures, and aggregations.Perform trend analysis, variance analysis, and root-cause analysis to generate actionable business insights.Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data across reports and dashboards.Automation & Process ImprovementAutomate recurring reporting activities using Power Automate and related Microsoft Power Platform capabilities.Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve reporting turnaround time.Support development of reusable datasets, templates, and standardized reporting processes.Stakeholder Management & SupportGather and clarify reporting requirements from WFM, operations, leadership, and client-facing teams.Provide report walkthroughs, user support, and troubleshooting for existing dashboards.Maintain documentation for datasets, logic, refresh schedules, and report governance.Governance & Data SecurityApply data governance practices and ensure controlled access to reports and datasets.Implement Row-Level Security or access-based views where applicable.Follow organizational standards for report development, validation, and publishing.Required SkillsMust HaveMicrosoft Power BI Desktop and ServiceDAX and Power QueryData Modeling and Report OptimizationSQL: Joins, CTEs, Views, Stored ProceduresPower AutomateAdvanced ExcelData Validation and DocumentationPreferred Tools / PlatformsTableauAWS QuickSightOther Business Intelligence / analytical toolsPower Platform ecosystemCloud or SaaS reporting environmentsGood to KnowPython for ETL and automationPython-based data preparationBasic API / data extraction understandingAzure Data ServicesPower Apps or SSIS exposureEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline.3+ years of experience in MIS, BI, reporting, data analytics, or similar roles.2+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience.Must have ITES / WFM experience preferred.Experience in operational reporting, workforce management reporting, or business analytics environments is highly desirable.Behavioral CompetenciesStrong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy.Ability to communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Ownership-driven approach with ability to manage multiple priorities.Problem-solving mindset with focus on automation and continuous improvement.Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Preferred CertificationsMicrosoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300).Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals.Tableau Desktop Specialist or AWS QuickSight certification, if applicable.Success CriteriaAccurate and timely delivery of dashboards, reports, and MIS outputs.Reduction of manual reporting effort through automation and improved reporting workflows.High stakeholder satisfaction through actionable insights and reliable reporting support.Improved reporting governance, data quality, and dataset documentation.Effective support for WFM / ITES operational decision-making.Contact:- Shivangi.sh@hcltech.com
