We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in real-time payments, settlement processes, and financial market infrastructure to support the design and delivery of next-generation payment and settlement solutions.Location: South AfricaEmployment Type: Contract / Project-BasedIndustry: Banking, Financial Services & PaymentsElicit, analyze, and document detailed business, operational, and functional requirements.Collaborate with stakeholders across banking, payments, fintech, and regulatory environments to understand and translate business needs into actionable requirements.Define and document business processes, operational workflows, and target operating models.Develop process maps and end-to-end participant/customer journeys.Identify and document operational controls, reconciliations, exception handling, and risk management requirements.Capture participant onboarding processes, business rules, and operational procedures.Define transaction lifecycle requirements and settlement scenarios.Gather reporting, audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements.Ensure requirements align with governance frameworks, operational risk controls, dispute management, and business continuity processes.Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirements-gathering sessions.Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate that business requirements have been successfully implemented.Contribute to process design, operational readiness activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.Required Experience & Domain KnowledgeReal-Time PaymentsPayment Switching and ClearingBanking and FinTech ecosystemsReconciliation and Treasury processesFinancial risk and liquidity managementPayment operations, controls, and governancePreferred SkillsStrong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.Proven experience documenting complex business and operational requirements.Excellent process mapping and business process modelling skills.Experience working within highly regulated financial services environments.Ability to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.What We're Looking ForYou are an analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst who thrives in complex payments environments.
