Apply & track with Apply EdgeThe Business Architect is responsible for translating organizational strategy and business priorities into structured business architecture models, capabilities, value streams, operating models, services, and transformation roadmaps. The role works closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand the current business landscape, identify capability gaps, define target-state business architecture, and ensure alignment between strategic objectives, business change initiatives, and enterprise architecture.Requirements Develop and maintain business architecture models covering capabilities, value streams, business services, organizational units, stakeholders, processes, information concepts, and strategic objectives Assess the current-state business architecture and define target-state business architecture aligned with organizational strategy and transformation priorities Develop business capability maps and assess capability maturity, performance, importance, and transformation needs Define and model enterprise value chains and value streams to show how value is created and delivered to customers, beneficiaries, and stakeholders Analyze operating models, organizational responsibilities, business services, and cross-functional interactions Map strategic objectives and initiatives to business capabilities, services, processes, applications, data, and transformation programs where relevant Identify business architecture gaps, overlaps, dependencies, duplication, pain points, and improvement opportunities Support the development of business transformation roadmaps and transition states based on prioritized capability improvements Collaborate with enterprise, data, application, technology, security, and solution architects to ensure end-to-end architectural alignment Support business process architecture and identify relationships between business capabilities, value streams, processes, and services Facilitate workshops and interviews with senior stakeholders, business owners, process owners, and subject matter experts Produce clear architecture views, heatmaps, matrices, catalogs, and executive-level presentations to communicate business architecture insights Support architecture governance and evaluate proposed initiatives against business architecture principles and target-state direction Contribute to enterprise architecture standards, principles, reference models, and governance practices Support portfolio planning and prioritization by providing visibility into business capabilities, dependencies, and transformation impactRequired Experience Minimum 8-10 years of experience in business architecture, enterprise architecture, business analysis, transformation, strategy, operating model design, or management consulting At least 4-5 years of experience in a business architecture or closely related senior role Demonstrated experience developing business capability maps, value streams, operating models, and current-state / target-state business architecture Experience supporting large-scale transformation, digital transformation, enterprise architecture, or organizational improvement programs Experience engaging senior business stakeholders and facilitating architecture or transformation workshops Experience translating strategic objectives into structured business architecture and actionable transformation prioritiesCore Competencies Business capability modeling Value chain and value stream modeling Operating model analysis Business service architecture Organization and stakeholder modeling Business process architecture Strategy-to-execution alignment Business architecture gap analysis Transformation roadmap development Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation Architecture governance Consulting, analysis, and executive communicationPreferred Frameworks, Standards & Methods TOGAF ArchiMate Business Architecture Guild / BIZBOK concepts BPMN Capability-based planning Value stream mapping Operating model design Business process management and transformation methods Relevant national or sector-specific enterprise architecture frameworks where applicablePreferred Tools Bizzdesign Sparx Enterprise Architect Orbus / iServer ARIS MEGA HOPEX or similar enterprise architecture platforms Business process modeling and collaboration toolsPreferred Qualifications & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Management, or a related discipline TOGAF certification is highly desirable ArchiMate certification is desirable Business Architecture, BPM, Lean, Six Sigma, or relevant transformation certifications are advantageousPersonal Attributes Strong strategic and analytical thinking Ability to connect business strategy with operating capabilities and transformation initiatives Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills Ability to work effectively with executives, business owners, and technical teams Strong consulting mindset and structured problem-solving approach Ability to simplify complex business structures into clear architecture models and executive insights
