Apply & track with Apply EdgeCompany Background & Project ObjectiveGIL is a Trust and Company Service Provider (TCSP) undertaking a strategic project to develop our next-generation core business operating system in-house. This system focuses on Client/Entity Administration, Management and Communication, and Document Management, and must strictly comply with the regulatory requirements of Hong Kong, BVI, and the Cayman Islands.Role PurposeThis is a specialist role. We are looking for a compliance and business expert who can translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable business rules for our development team. You will be the "source of truth" for all compliance-related business rules and operational procedures, ensuring the new system is built on a solid foundation.Core Responsibilities1. Compliance Rule Definition (Primary)Analyze and interpret company laws/ordinances, economic substance regulations, and AML, CRS, and Risk Assessment requirements for Hong Kong, BVI, and the Cayman Islands.Translate these requirements into precise business rules, data requirements, and process workflows for system implementation.Create and maintain a "Compliance Rule Book" that serves as the definitive reference for all system functionalities.2. Business Requirements SupportCollaborate with the UX/Front-end Specialist to ensure that system interfaces and workflows correctly reflect the defined compliance rules.Provide expert guidance to the Project Manager and the development team during sprint planning and development, clarifying business logic as needed.Define acceptance criteria for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) from a compliance and business rule perspective, and lead the final validation from a business perspective.3. Stakeholder CollaborationAct as the primary liaison between the Hong Kong business/compliance team and the technical development team, ensuring compliance requirements are clearly communicated.Keep abreast of regulatory changes in the target jurisdictions and assess their impact on existing system requirements.Qualifications (Mandatory)Experience:Bachelor's degree or above.5+ years of progressive experience in the TCSP industry or a related financial services sector in Hong Kong.1-2 years of demonstrable experience in defining or participating in the definition of business requirements for a core business relevant operational system (e.g., Viewpoint, CSA, KYC360, or similar).Professional Skills:Deep Industry Knowledge: Hands-on, practical understanding of the full corporate lifecycle (incorporation, maintenance, amendments, dissolution) for BVI, Cayman Islands, and Hong Kong entities.Compliance Expertise: Familiarity with key compliance areas such as Economic Substance, AML/KYC, and statutory filings for these jurisdictions.Analytical Skills: Proven ability to interpret legal and regulatory texts and translate them into structured business rules and process flows. Communication & Languages:Fluent in both Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and English, with excellent written communication skills to produce clear, unambiguous documentation.Ability to communicate effectively with both non-technical business stakeholders and a technical development team.Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)Professional qualifications such as HKICS/ICSA, CPA, or a law degree.Hands-on experience with Viewpoint Systems.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Domain Knowledge: Demonstrated experience developing software for Corporate Services, Entity Administration, Legal Tech, or FinTech. You should understand the nuances of corporate secretarial duties, statutory forms, and compliance workflows.Financial Systems Experience: Proven track record of building or customizing ERP, CRM, or Practice Management systems, specifically handling ledgers, time-charging, and dynamic billing cycles.Document Management System Experience: Experience building or integrating Document Management Systems (DMS) and workflow automation tools.
