Business Continuity Management & Business Impact Analysis

Job Summary Emergency and Crises Specialist is responsible for managing the Business Continuity Management System. This includes identifying organizational context and scope, updating/maintaining governance documents (i.e. policies, manual, frameworks, etc.), conducting business impact analysis and risk assessment exercises, developing/updating business continuity and crisis management plans, coordinating tests/exercises, coordinating/conducting training/awareness, assessing performance and continually improve the BCMS. Emergency and Crises Specialist should ensure that the Business Continuity Management System is consistent with legal/regulatory requirements (e.g. NCEMA 7000:2015) and industry leading practices/standards (ISO 22301:2019).Strategic RoleControls the day-to-day business aspects of the BCMS development and implementation in coordination with BCMS Working GroupResponsible for maintaining the BCMS documented information.Operational Roles Perform/Update Business Impact analysis, Risk Assessment and StrategiesCoordinate all activities relevant to the Business Impact Analysis exercise(s). Coordinate all activities relevant to the Risk Assessment exercise(s)Support the core business and support functions for determining recovery priorities and identifying possible threatsAnalyze the results of the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Risk Assessment performedCoordinate all activities to identify/assess business continuity recovery strategiesMaintain an up to date business continuity plansMaintain Crisis Management, Incident Response, Emergency Response, Communication plans Coordinate all activities relevant to developing/updating business continuity plans/ITDR plansExercise, test and review the business continuity plansPlan exercising/testing activities and prepare the exercising/testing calendarCoordinate all activities relevant to exercising and testing Review and identify the changes required to the BCMS documented information based on exercising/testing resultsReview, maintain and improve the BCMSCoordinate self-assessment exercisesCoordinate performance evaluation (KPI monitoring) exercises to assess the BCMS effectiveness Coordinate internal/external audits/reviewsEducational Qualifications and CertificationsMinimum:Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Risk Management or IT from a recognized university. ISO 22301 relevant certifications.
