Job Title:Business Continuity OfficerJob Purpose:The Business Continuity Officer is in charge of assisting in the development and implementation of an effective business continuity framework in the energy sector to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and best practices. This includes assisting the Business Continuity & Crisis Management Section Head in providing professional guidance to licensed entities in order to ensure that the Energy Sector has a well-developed and robust business continuity framework in place and that all licensed entities have effective business continuity documentation in place. Furthermore, the Business Continuity Officer is responsible for assisting in the oversight and monitoring of the licensed entities' implementation of the business continuity framework, as well as ensuring alignment with the government standards outlined by NCEMA. This includes helping in raising awareness of business continuity management across the energy sector.Key Responsibilities:Assist in cascading the NCEMA standards to licensed energy sector entities, as applicable. This includes, but is not limited to, business recovery, crisis management, emergency management, contingency planning, and disaster preparation.Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a business continuity framework and a governance framework for business continuity management. This includes the development of tools and guidelines to assist licensed energy entities.Assist in identifying business continuity risks in the sector and ensuring they are captured and managed appropriately.Assist in the establishment and maintenance of processes and practices that effectively ensure the BCM program remains current and incorporates/aligns with industry standards and practices as necessary to meet general regulatory requirements.Assist in the verification of licensed entities' business continuity management documentation, ensuring compliance with the business continuity framework.Assist in reviewing any amendments or modifications to licensed entities' business continuity management documentation.Coordinate with licensed entities and sector stakeholders on all matters relating to the sector's business continuity.Support monitoring and reporting on licensed entities' compliance with business continuity processes, readiness, events, and exercise results. Identify any non-compliance areas.Collaborate closely with the Data Management team to develop and maintain a sector-specific business continuity database.Assisting in raising awareness of business continuity policies, regulations, and standards mandated by NCEMA among licensed entities.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., Engineering, Business Administration, Business Continuity.Experience: Minimum of 0 - 2 years of experience in relevant field
