Business Data Analyst

Job Profile:Experienced Data Analyst with 3+ years of experience in delivering reporting, analytics, and business insights to support operational and customer-focused decision making. Strong hands-on expertise in SQL, PySpark, and Power BI, with working knowledge of Databricks as an added advantage. Skilled in data analysis, KPI reporting, dashboard development, root cause analysis, and translating complex data into actionable insights. Proven ability to partner with business and operational teams to improve service performance, customer outcomes, and operational efficiency.As a Data Analyst, the candidate will support one of our Utilities clients by developing reporting and insights capabilities across customer and operational functions. The role focuses on delivering meaningful analytics, performance reporting, and dashboards that provide visibility into business performance, customer experience, and operational effectiveness. The analyst will collaborate with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities, track key performance indicators, and enable data-driven decision making.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish and support centralized reporting and insights solutions through interactive Power BI dashboards and operational reporting.Develop, maintain, and automate KPI, SLA, customer experience, and operational performance reporting frameworks.Analyze customer journeys, operational processes, and service performance to identify improvement opportunities across metering, billing, and related functions.Perform root cause analysis to identify drivers of service issues, operational exceptions, and process bottlenecks.Support front-office and back-office teams through performance reporting and data-driven recommendations to improve KPIs and SLAs.Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions.Track improvement initiatives and provide governance reporting to measure business outcomes and service performance improvements.Leverage SQL, PySpark, and data visualization tools to extract, transform, analyze, and present data effectively.Must have Strong SQL and PySpark experience.Hands-on Power BI dashboard development and reporting expertise.Experience working with cross-functional business and operational teams.Ability to perform analytical problem solving and root cause analysis.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Databricks experience is an added advantage.Candidate Profile:Bachelor’s/master’s degree in economics, mathematics, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas3+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Reporting, or Business Intelligence roles.Hands-on experience with SQL, PySpark, and Power BI.Exposure to Databricks and modern cloud-based analytics platforms is preferred.Experience delivering end-to-end reporting, dashboarding, and analytics projects.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.Comfortable working with global stakeholders and cross-cultural teams.What we offer:EXL Analytics offers an exciting, fast paced and innovative environment, which brings together a group of sharp and entrepreneurial professionals who are eager to influence business decisions.
