Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition Title : Business Data Analyst - Data Management & Reporting Location : Whippany, NJ (Onsite/Hybrid from Day 1) Experience : 8+ Years Employee Type : Full Time with Benefits Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst with 8+ years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, and data management initiatives. This role will partner with Business, Data Engineering, Data Governance, and Technology teams to drive data-driven decision-making, support large-scale data transformation programs, and ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, advanced SQL expertise, and experience working with complex enterprise data environments.Key ResponsibilitiesGather, analyze, and document business, functional, and data requirements from business stakeholders.Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, data quality issues, and actionable business insights.Analyze source-to-target mappings and document end-to-end data lineage.Develop business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, data dictionaries, and process documentation.Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, Data Governance, Technology, and Business teams to deliver data solutions.Define data quality rules, validation controls, reconciliation processes, and monitoring procedures.Support data migration, transformation, integration, and modernization initiatives.Create and maintain reports, dashboards, metrics, and KPIs to support business and operational decision-making.Conduct gap analyses and recommend process improvements to enhance data quality and operational efficiency.Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to understand reporting, analytics, and business requirements.Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), data validation, defect resolution, and production readiness activities.Ensure compliance with data governance standards, regulatory requirements, audit controls, and enterprise data policies. Required Qualifications8+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Management Analyst, or similar role.Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.Strong experience in requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and business process analysis.Proven experience working with large, complex datasets across multiple platforms and systems.Strong understanding of data management, reporting, data governance, and data quality concepts.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.Ability to translate business requirements into data and reporting solutions.
