The Business Development Manager will lead business growth initiatives for our construction and contracting operations in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the local construction/contracting market, established relationships with developers, consultants, project management firms, and government entities, and a proven track record of securing high-value construction projects.This role requires a blend of strategic business development, technical understanding, client relationship management, and commercial acumen to drive sustainable revenue growth and expand the company's market presence. Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Growth & Market DevelopmentDevelop and execute strategic business development plans aligned with the company's growth objectives. Identify, qualify, and pursue new project opportunities across residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and government sectors. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective projects and clients. Achieve annual revenue, project acquisition, and profitability targets. Client & Stakeholder ManagementEstablish and maintain strong relationships with developers, consultants, architects, project management consultants (PMCs), government authorities, and key decision-makers. Conduct regular client meetings, presentations, and networking activities to enhance brand visibility and business opportunities. Act as the primary point of contact for key clients and strategic accounts. Tendering & Project AcquisitionMonitor upcoming tenders, project announcements, and market opportunities. Coordinate with estimation, engineering, procurement, and operations teams during bid preparation. Review tender requirements and ensure timely submission of competitive and compliant proposals. Lead commercial negotiations and support contract finalization processes. Strategic Partnerships & NetworkingIdentify and develop strategic alliances with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry stakeholders. Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, conferences, and networking forums. Strengthen the company's market reputation and brand positioning within the UAE construction sector. Market Intelligence & Competitor AnalysisConduct ongoing market research to identify emerging trends, client requirements, and competitor activities. Provide management with market insights, business forecasts, and strategic recommendations. Identify new service offerings, sectors, and geographic markets for expansion. Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Estimation, Design, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure alignment between client expectations and project delivery capabilities. Support project handovers from sales to execution teams to ensure smooth project initiation. Collaborate with senior management on business planning and growth strategies. CRM, Reporting & Performance TrackingMaintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, client interactions, and project pipelines using CRM systems. Prepare weekly and monthly business development reports. Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales performance and project acquisition. Qualifications & ExperienceEducationBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA in Marketing, Business Management, or a related discipline will be an added advantage. ExperienceMinimum 8–12 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Project Acquisition within the UAE construction and contracting industry. Demonstrated success in securing construction projects and developing long-term client relationships. Strong network within the UAE construction ecosystem, including developers, consultants, PMCs, and government entities. Technical KnowledgeStrong understanding of construction methodologies, project lifecycles, tendering processes, and contract administration. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and UAE construction regulations is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and project management tools.
