Business Development Manager

Role Description The Director will provide strategic leadership and overall management of Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, ensuring alignment with the Center’s mission and long-term objectives. This full-time, on-site role, based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, includes overseeing research programs, academic initiatives, and partnerships with universities, government agencies, and private-sector organizations. The Director will guide the development and implementation of annual plans, manage budgets and resource allocation, and supervise staff and research teams to drive high-quality outputs. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting research priorities, reviewing and approving projects, supporting grant applications, and monitoring performance metrics. The Director will also represent the Center at conferences and events, enhance its visibility, and foster a collaborative culture that encourages innovation, ethical research practices, and professional growth.QualificationsDemonstrated leadership and management skills, including experience overseeing multidisciplinary teams and complex programs.Strong strategic planning and organizational abilities, with a track record of setting goals, managing budgets, and delivering results.Extensive experience in academic, research, or policy environments, with familiarity in research design, publication processes, and scholarly collaboration.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage stakeholders, present to diverse audiences, and build long-term partnerships.Experience with fundraising, grants, or sponsorships, and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with funding bodies and institutional partners.Commitment to ethical research practices, diversity and inclusion, and fostering an environment of respect and professional development.Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or PhD) in a relevant field such as social sciences, humanities, public policy, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.Prior experience in a director-level or senior leadership role within a research center, academic institution, or similar organization is highly beneficial.
