Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Overview:The Business Development Manager (Insurance) is responsible for driving strategic partnerships with insurance companies, healthcare providers, clinics, and corporate groups to strengthen prescription business growth and improve operational efficiency across pharmacy branches. The role focuses on insurance relationship management, commercial negotiations, insurance process optimization, business expansion, and revenue generation.The position plays a critical role in improving insurance approvals, increasing high-value prescription sales, enhancing customer retention, and supporting turnaround initiatives for underperforming pharmacy locations.Key Responsibilities:Insurance Business DevelopmentDevelop and maintain strategic relationships with insurance companies, TPAs, healthcare groups, and corporate clients.Identify new insurance business opportunities and expand existing partnerships.Lead negotiations for commercial agreements, pricing structures, and partnership models.Drive initiatives to increase prescription volumes and insurance-covered patient traffic.Coordinate with clinics and healthcare providers to maximize prescription capture opportunities.Commercial Growth & Revenue EnhancementAchieve targeted revenue growth through insurance business expansion initiatives.Monitor branch performance and implement strategies to improve sales contribution from insured patients.Identify high-value prescription opportunities and develop execution plans.Support business turnaround projects for loss-making locations through insurance-driven growth strategies.Generate periodic commercial performance reports and revenue analysis.Operational & Process ManagementOversee insurance operational workflows across pharmacy branches.Ensure timely insurance approvals and minimize processing delays.Improve insurance claim processes and operational efficiency.Work closely with pharmacy operations teams to streamline insurance handling procedures.Ensure adherence to company SOPs, payer requirements, and compliance standards.Stakeholder CoordinationCoordinate with internal departments including Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Clinical Teams.Support training and guidance for branch teams on insurance procedures and customer handling.Act as the primary escalation point for insurance-related operational issues.Maintain professional relationships with key external stakeholders and healthcare partners.Compliance & GovernanceEnsure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and internal governance standards.Monitor contractual obligations and service-level agreements.Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for audit and compliance purposes.Qualification & Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Pharmacy, or related field.MBA or relevant healthcare/business certifications preferred.Minimum 5–8 years of experience in insurance business development, healthcare operations, pharmacy management, or commercial healthcare partnerships.Strong understanding of UAE healthcare insurance systems and payer networks.Experience managing insurance company relationships and commercial negotiations.Proven track record in revenue growth and partnership development.Strong business development and negotiation skills.Commercial and financial acumen.
