We hope we can do many great things together.We are seeking a Business Development Officer & Relationship Manager to join our team to play a critical role in expanding Lake Shore Bank’s commercial, municipal, non-profit, and professional-services banking relationships through proactive calling efforts, consultative sales, and disciplined relationship management. The position focuses on generating new deposit relationships, deepening existing customer relationships, promoting treasury management solutions, and partnering with retail, commercial lending, marketing, operations, and senior management to support sustainable growth and exceptional customer service.We offer a competitive wage and benefits package with opportunities for professional position.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Develop and manage a consistent pipeline of new business prospects, including commercial businesses, municipalities, school districts, non-profit organizations, professional firms, and community partners.Promote Lake Shore Bank’s deposit, cash management, lending referral, merchant, digital banking, and treasury management capabilities through targeted outreach and relationship calling.Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying needs, recommending appropriate banking solutions, and coordinating internal resources to deliver a seamless customer experience.Serve as a consultative resource for customers seeking to improve cash flow, control movement of funds, manage fraud risk, streamline payables/receivables, and enhance access to account information.Partner with branch managers and retail teams to identify business development opportunities, cross-sell services, and improve customer retention.Coordinate with commercial lending, deposit operations, digital banking, compliance, marketing, and senior management to support customer onboarding, implementation, service resolution, and relationship growth.Maintain awareness of competitor offerings, market trends, local economic activity, and customer needs to help position Lake Shore Bank effectively in the marketplace.Represent Lake Shore Bank at business, municipal, civic, and community events to strengthen brand visibility and referral opportunities.Treasury Management & Business Services FocusEducate customers and prospects on treasury management services, including ACH origination, domestic wires, remote deposit capture, positive pay, online banking, mobile deposit, account alerts, sweep or liquidity solutions, merchant services, and other business banking tools offered by the Bank.Identify opportunities to transition customers from manual processes to secure, efficient digital and treasury management solutions.Assist with treasury management onboarding by coordinating documentation, implementation steps, training, and communication between customers and internal support teams.Support ongoing customer training and service follow-up to ensure treasury management services are used effectively and in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.Promote fraud prevention awareness by discussing appropriate controls, dual approvals, transaction limits, positive pay, user administration, and secure cash management practices.Collaborate with branch and operations teams to ensure business and municipal customers receive timely support for online banking, statement access, account maintenance, and service updates.Business Development Planning & ReportingPrepare and maintain calling plans, prospect lists, referral pipelines, and relationship notes to support accountability and follow-up.Provide periodic progress updates to management outlining calling activity, prospect opportunities, new relationships, deposit growth, treasury management opportunities, and market observations.Analyze customer relationships to identify opportunities for additional products or services, including deposit accounts, treasury management, digital banking, lending referrals, and community banking solutions.Support business development campaigns, customer outreach initiatives, and product education efforts in partnership with marketing and branch leadership.Assist with training branch staff on business development conversations, referral expectations, treasury management awareness, and customer relationship deepening strategies.Customer Service, Risk Management & ComplianceDeliver Lake Shore Bank’s service standard by providing professional, responsive, and accurate support to new and existing customers.Ensure all sales and service activities are conducted in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and the Bank’s Code of Conduct.Protect confidential customer and Bank information and maintain a high degree of professionalism and discretion.Identify, document, and escalate customer concerns, operational issues, unusual activity, or risk concerns in a timely manner.Promote sound controls and responsible use of treasury management services, including appropriate customer training and awareness of account access, fraud prevention, and transaction security.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent banking, sales, or relationship management experience.Three to five years of banking, business development, treasury management, commercial relationship, branch management, or related sales experience preferred.Strong knowledge of deposit products, business banking services, treasury management solutions, digital banking platforms, and customer relationship management practices.Demonstrated ability to prospect, network, present solutions, identify customer needs, and close relationship opportunities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to customers, community groups, business owners, municipal officials, senior management, and internal teams.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain follow-up discipline, and document relationship activity accurately.Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, core banking systems, digital banking tools, and other systems used by the Bank.High degree of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, sound judgment, and commitment to customer-focused service.
