Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition OverviewThe Business Development Representative is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and supporting the growth of the company’s contracting, construction, timber, and furniture portfolio. The role focuses on project acquisition, market expansion, tender support, and client engagement across public and private sectors.Key responsibilities1. Lead Generation & Prospecting· Identify and develop new leads through direct outreach, networking, referrals, industry databases and market intelligence.· Build and maintain a strong prospect/client database.· Converting leads into active business opportunities.2. Project Tracking & Opportunity Development· Track upcoming projects from early stages through tender/award stage.· Identify key decision-makers, consultants, developers and contractors involved in each project.· Maintain regular follow-up on project status, requirements and timelines.3. Client Visits & Relationship Development· Conduct regular client visits and business development meetings.· Develop relationships with key decision-makers and maintain an active network within the industry.· Represent the company at exhibitions, conferences and networking events.4. Proposal / Commercial Coordination:· Coordinate with Estimation, Technical, Design and Commercial teams to develop competitive proposals and quotations.· Ensure commercial submissions are aligned with client requirements and submission deadlines.· Support negotiations and commercial discussions during the pre-award stage.5. Handover After Award:· Ensure proper handover of awarded projects to the relevant Sales/Projects/Operations teams.· Maintain client engagement during the transition to ensure a smooth project start.6. Competitor & Market Intelligence:· Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, market developments and upcoming opportunities.· Provide regular market intelligence and recommendations to management.key performance indicators (KPI)1. Accuracy and timeliness of reports.Skills & CompetenciesStrong negotiation and communication skills.Commercial and financial awareness.Relationship-building and networking skills.Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).CRM systems experience is a plus.Excellent English communication skills (Arabic language proficiency is a plus).QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of overall experience in business development.Preferred minimum of 2 years of experience specifically within the contracting, timber/wood, and furniture sectors.Strong understanding of construction projects, tendering processes, and contracts.Proven experience dealing with consultants, developers, and government entities.
