Apply & track with Apply EdgeBusiness Intelligence AnalystOverviewAn education organisation is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to transform complex business requirements and data into actionable insights. Reporting to the Data and Business Intelligence Manager, this role will develop reporting and visualisation solutions, support data-driven decision-making and improve analytics capabilities across student and wider operational functions.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain and enhance interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.Translate business requirements into data models, KPIs and effective reporting solutions.Analyse data to identify trends, opportunities and insights that support evidence-based decision-making.Ensure the accuracy, consistency, reliability and governance of BI outputs.Use Microsoft Fabric to support data ingestion, engineering and analytics pipelines.Automate recurring reporting processes using Microsoft Fabric, Power Automate and related technologies.Support ETL processes and data integration across multiple internal and external data sources.Apply advanced analytics techniques, including forecasting and predictive modelling.Present complex findings through clear data storytelling and effective visualisation.Partner with academic, operational and business teams to understand reporting requirements and deliver appropriate BI solutions.Maintain clear documentation, including user guides, data dictionaries and reporting specifications.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics or a related discipline.Strong proficiency in business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI.Advanced SQL skills with a strong understanding of data modelling and DAX.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.Experience with ETL processes, data integration and data warehousing concepts.Experience using Python or R for advanced analytics.Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.Desirable ExperienceKnowledge of AI and generative AI applications within business intelligence and analytics.Understanding of data governance, privacy and regulatory requirements, including GDPR.Experience working with student or education-related datasets, such as enrolment, attendance, progression and continuation.Experience within the higher education sector and familiarity with relevant reporting frameworks.Power BI or Microsoft Fabric certification.Experience with Power Automate or Microsoft Fabric pipelines.What the Role OffersThe opportunity to contribute to data-driven decision-making across a growing education organisation.Exposure to modern data and analytics technologies, including Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.A role combining business analysis, data engineering, visualisation and advanced analytics.The opportunity to work closely with academic, operational and business stakeholders.A position focused on improving reporting, automation and strategic use of data.
