BI Developer – Contract – Dubai

Location: Dubai, UAE – onsiteDuration: Initial 6-week contract, with a view to extensionWe are seeking an experienced BI Developer to support a business intelligence and reporting project within a large public-sector organisation in Dubai.You will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate reporting requirements into clear, accurate dashboards and reports, helping users access and understand the data they need to make informed decisions.Key responsibilitiesDesign, develop and enhance BI dashboards and reports to support business requirements.Work with stakeholders to define reporting requirements, KPIs and acceptance criteria.Develop and optimise SQL queries to extract, transform and validate data.Build and maintain data models that support consistent, reliable reporting.Integrate data from multiple sources, working alongside data engineering teams where required.Investigate reporting discrepancies and resolve data quality and performance issues.Support testing, user acceptance testing and deployment of reporting solutions.Document report logic, data definitions and technical designs, providing handover to internal teams.Required skills and experienceProven experience as a BI Developer delivering dashboards and reporting solutions.Strong hands-on experience with a recognised BI platform, such as Power BI, Tableau or Qlik.Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.Good understanding of data modelling, ETL processes and data warehousing.Experience translating business requirements into practical reporting solutions.Strong attention to detail, with a focus on data accuracy and usability.Confident communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Ability to work independently and deliver within a short project timeframe.Desirable experiencePrevious experience within government, public-sector or large enterprise environments.Experience improving dashboard performance and reporting processes.Familiarity with data governance, access controls and reporting security.This role requires onsite working in Dubai for an initial six weeks, with the possibility of extension.
