We are based in San Diego, California.Please visit our website at www.unigridbattery.com Position OverviewThe Business Operations Manager will serve in a cross-functional role improving operational efficiency, supporting the day-to-day business, and working closely with leadership across operations, human resources, accounting, IT, legal, marketing, sales fulfillment, and special projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to a fast-moving start-up environment, identifying operational gaps, and making sure projects and teams stay aligned and accountable.The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of moving between strategic planning and detailed execution.Key ResponsibilitiesProactive analysis identification of operational gapsEnd-to-end process development and implementation: planning, trials, execution, implementation, and post-implementation follow-up.Develop, maintain, and improve SOPs, policies, documentation, and internal operating procedures.Continuous improvement of existing processes.Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment.Ensure projects and processes are executed to all necessary safety and compliance standards.Track and measure action items and program and process outcomes, coordinating with leadership on success metrics.Manage special projects, including, but not limited to: equipment buildouts, permitting, contractor/vendor relationships and other cross-functional initiatives.Develop and maintain logistics systems: inventory, production, shipments, and fulfillment.Coordinate marketing or PR initiatives, including social media oversight, trade show registrations, event logistics, and related activities.Manage insurance renewals, contracts, vendor relationships, and other administrative business functions.Ensure business compliance with local and state governments, fire, hazmat departments, as needed.Support accounts receivable, accounts payable and purchasing, as needed.Oversee organizational legal filings, renewals, and related payments, including trademarks, permits, corporate registrations, and dues.Monitor operating expenses and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes.Maintain accurate employee documentation and internal administrative systems.Coordinate employee programs, policies, and company-wide communications.Work with leadership, external HR, and payroll providers on operational HR matters.Maintain an organized, functional, and efficient office environment, including office furnishings, equipment, and technology setup.Qualifications5+ years of experience in business operations, operations management, project management, consulting, finance, or a related field.Experience working in a startup, high-growth, manufacturing, technology, energy, or hardware environment preferred.Ability to translate business needs into actionable plans and processes.Strong organizational and project management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Comfortable working independently and taking ownership without extensive direction.High attention to detail and strong follow-through.Ability to mentor and coach others.Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Science, Engineering, or a related field.Preferred QualificationsExperience in battery technology, energy storage, manufacturing, clean technology, or another hardware-focused industry.Experience implementing or improving CRM systems.Experience with Katana, QuickBooks Online, or similar business systems.Experience developing operational dashboards and KPIs.Experience supporting executive leadership in a startup environment.MBA, or equivalent Masters degree Compensation & BenefitsSalary: $125,000-$175,000, depending on experienceBenefits may include:Unlimited PTO.Competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).Meaningful stock option package with the opportunity to share in UNIGRID's future growth.Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
