Buyer

We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Junior Buyer to join a growing retail team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous buying, merchandising or retail experience who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced retail environment.Working closely with the Senior Buyer, you will support the buying process from product selection and supplier management through to stock performance and market analysis. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and a passion for retail and consumer trends.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Buying Team with the development and execution of seasonal buying strategies.Assist with product selection, range planning and assortment decisions.Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and brand partners.Prepare purchase orders and ensure orders are placed accurately and on time.Monitor stock levels and identify replenishment requirements.Analyse sales performance, stock turn, margins and product performance to support buying decisions.Review competitor activity, pricing and market trends.Work closely with the merchandising and planning teams to optimise inventory levels.Liaise with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely product deliveries.Assist with supplier negotiations on pricing, delivery schedules and promotional opportunities.Maintain accurate product, pricing and supplier information within internal systems.Produce regular buying reports and performance analysis for management.Support new product launches and seasonal campaigns.Ensure all products meet company quality standards and commercial objectives.Skills & Experience1–3 years' experience within Buying or Purchasing in Retail.Previous experience within a retail is preferred.Strong commercial awareness and interest in retail trends.Excellent numerical and analytical skills.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Experience working with ERP or retail systems is advantageous.
