This is a full-time on-site role located in Irvine, CA. The Buyer will be responsible for procuring materials, managing suppliers, and driving performance within our supply chain. This individual will work cross-functionally with all departments to ensure materials arrive on time to support machine shop and assembly schedules.Responsibilities:Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendorsNegotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms to achieve optimal valueDevelop long-term supplier partnerships to ensure supply continuity and performanceDevelop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectivesCollaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levelsAnalyze market trends and supplier performance to drive cost savings and mitigate riskLead contract negotiations and ensure compliance with company requirementsSupport audits and maintain supplier performance standardsMonitor inventory levels and manage purchasing budgets effectivelyIdentify and implement cost-reduction and process improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with legal, regulatory, and environmental standards (AS9100D, ISO 9001:2015, NADCAP)Mitigate supply chain risk through contingency planning and supplier diversificationPrepare and present reports on procurement metrics, cost savings, and supplier performancePartner cross-functionally to resolve supply, quality, and delivery challengesMentor and support team members as neededQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)3+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing or a technical environmentExperience purchasing a variety of commodities (electronic assemblies, wire assemblies, mechanical assemblies, raw materials, chemical processing)Strong experience in supplier management and contract negotiationERP system experience (Epicor a plus)Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentKnowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and market trendBenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision shared coverageVacation and Sick Time401K MatchOtherIf you are a motivated Buyer with a passion for driving supplier performance and a desire to work on diverse projects, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
