C++ Toolchain Engineer

A tier-one HFT firm looking to hire a C++ Toolchain Engineer to work on the build, compiler and developer infrastructure supporting a large performance-critical C++ codebase.This is a hands-on engineering role for someone interested in the infrastructure that allows highly technical C++ teams to build, test and ship software quickly and reliably.What you'll work on:Build and improve C++ toolchain and build infrastructureWork with LLVM/Clang, GCC and modern C++ compilersImprove compilation, linking and build performanceDevelop infrastructure around Bazel, CMake, Buck2 or similar build systemsWork on remote execution, distributed builds and build cachingProfile and eliminate bottlenecks across large C++ codebasesImprove CI/CD, testing and release infrastructureBuild internal developer tooling used by C++ engineers across the firmWhat we're looking for:Strong C++ and Linux engineering backgroundExperience with build systems, compilers or developer infrastructureUnderstanding of compilation, linking and C++ toolchainsExperience with Bazel, CMake, Buck2, Ninja or similarStrong systems and performance engineering fundamentalsComfortable working across large and complex C++ codebasesExperience with LLVM/Clang, compiler internals, linkers, remote execution, monorepos, distributed build systems or performance optimisation would be particularly relevant.
