Location: Dubai Office, UAEContract Duration: Immediate – 7 January 2027 (End date subject to confirmation)Industry: Events & OverlayContract Type: Project-BasedWe are looking for a CAD Operator to join the Overlay team supporting a major event project in the UAE.

The role will focus on developing detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, fabrication drawings, construction drawings, and spatial layouts for scenic, decorative, and overlay elements. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Zone Managers, surveyors, and other technical stakeholders to ensure drawings are accurate, practical, and aligned with project requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce detailed fabrication drawings for scenic and decorative elements.Create detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and fabrication-ready construction drawings.Develop and revise layouts and designs based on project updates, site conditions, and stakeholder feedback.Plan and optimise spatial layouts, traffic flow, and the functional use of zones and sub-zones.Conduct site surveys alongside surveyors and coordinate findings with Operations and Zone Managers.Manage and maintain CAD files and drawing documentation throughout the project.Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project standards.Prepare material estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for overlay works.Coordinate with relevant technical and operational teams to ensure designs are practical and suitable for implementation.Incorporate site measurements, technical requirements, and project changes into updated drawings.Ensure all drawings are prepared to the required standards and delivered within project timelines.Required SkillsStrong proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.Experience with rendering software is an advantage.Strong ability to produce fabrication and construction drawings.Experience creating detailed 2D layouts and 3D models.Understanding of spatial planning, site layouts, traffic flow, and functional zoning.Ability to interpret site measurements and translate them into accurate CAD drawings.Experience coordinating with surveyors, operations teams, and other technical stakeholders.Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.Good understanding of construction, fabrication, and installation requirements.Ability to manage multiple drawing revisions and work to tight deadlines.Strong organisational and file management skills.Required QualificationsPortfolio required, demonstrating CAD and technical drawing capabilities (fabrication drawings, construction drawings, technical drawings, 2D layout plans, 3D models, spatial/zone layouts, scenic/decorative element drawings, event overlay drawings).Must have own laptop capable of running AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other required software.Experience RequirementMinimum 1+ year of experience in the events industry, CAD, technical design, construction, exhibition, overlay, or an equivalent field.Location / Work ModeDubai Office, UAESalary / BenefitsSalary is all-inclusiveNo accommodation, transportation, or visa providedCandidate must have their own laptop and required software
