This position is responsible for handling inbound patient calls and providing excellent customer service while assisting patients with scheduling, questions, and general office needs.The ideal candidate is comfortable speaking with a high volume of patients, has excellent communication skills, and can remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Answer a high volume of inbound patient calls in a professional and courteous mannerAssist patients with scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointmentsProvide general information regarding providers, office locations, and appointmentsRoute calls and messages to the appropriate specialty office or departmentTake accurate and detailed patient messagesAssist patients with questions regarding their appointments and office proceduresVerify and update patient demographic information as neededDocument all calls and patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical recordFollow established call center procedures and workflowsProtect patient privacy and follow HIPAA guidelinesProvide exceptional customer service and create a positive patient experienceWork closely with specialty office staff to ensure patient needs are addressedHandle difficult or frustrated callers professionally and with empathyMeet department expectations for call quality, productivity, and attendancePerform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Previous call center, customer service, or medical office experience preferredHealthcare experience is a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong computer and data-entry skillsAbility to multitask while maintaining accuracyProfessional, patient, and friendly demeanorAbility to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detailDependable and punctualAbility to work well as part of a team
